Pantone, the global authority on colour have announced their colour trend report for summer 2013.
From fashion, furnishings, gardening, graphic design, large retailers to small design studios, everyone who deals with colour takes note of these reports and this Spring/Summer is shaping up to be a real balancing act!
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour institute talks about the theme of balance in their new colour palate for the season.
“To create the ‘magic’ that ultimately leads to sales in the marketplace, colours for 2013 will need to coax and cajole, soothe or astonish, renew and replenish,” said Eiseman.
Eiseman, (notably dressed in Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s 2012 colour of the year) talks about our need to seek balance in our lives and how colour selections can be used to reflect that.
The colour palate she recommends consists of 10 key colours to create a balanced and harmonious look. It is a “balancing act between their novel neutrals, light and bright”.
