Zadro wins CommsCon Award for Westpac campaign

Zadro won Best Internal Communications/Change Management in the 2015 CommsCon Awards for its work on behalf of Westpac Banking Corporation.

Zadro won a competitive pitch to deliver Westpac’s  Customer inFOCUS Program – an internal communications campaign to educate their nationwide bankers in the art of conversation and engaging better with customers. The campaign was in response to the Future of Financial Advice (FoFA) legislation introduced by the Australian Government, which changed the requirements of what must be discussed with banking customers.

“We are so thrilled to receive recognition for our work with Westpac. We had such a great time creating the various aspects of this key internal communications campaign,” says Zadro Managing Director Felicity Zadro.

Zadro first developed an internal brand for the campaign and produced 51 separate pieces of design collateral including seven mini intranet sites with digital teasers, infographic posters and campaign magnets, and a core animated video – explaining the main points of the campaign.

“This campaign used every discipline of our integrated communications team, including our design studio and talented wordsmiths and copywriters to bring together information for Westpac bankers that was in itself engaging,” says Felicity.

“The work actually extended beyond the original brief and we devised eight more separate campaigns which were rolled out for the various divisions of banking, as well as the other banks owned by Westpac Banking Corporation.”

The campaign was a great success internally for Westpac Banking Corporation with the bonus of recognition received externally among communications professionals. The 2015 CommsCon Awards recognise excellence in the fields of public relations and communications.

The campaign achieved primary outcomes of:

  • Consistent, professional and well branded campaigns
  • Bespoke campaign languages for different audiences and brands
  • Very positive feedback with high levels of engagement and interest
  • High levels of engagement via the intranet
  • Nomination for internal Westpac awards
